Amazing Spiderman was pretty Spectacular! No it was like an 8/10, I just wanted to make a Spiderman pun!
It’s funny because people were bitching about how Spiderman shouldn’t be rebooted so soon –people forget that the first Tobey/Sam Rami Spiderman came out in 2002. Spiderman 3 came out in 2007, and as if it hadn’t done enough damage to Spiderman, it nearly poisoned people on Amazing, which is a shame because it’s a great movie.
Andrew Garfield is just a better Peter Parker than Toby was. Dennis Leary did a great impression of Dennis Leary and Emma Stone is so likable she makes you hate Kirsten Dunst even more for ruining the original movies. Cast-wise, there wasn’t a weak link, even though there are points where the dialogue will leave you rolling your eyes. The plot seemed to lurch forward at times, but that didn’t really matter since you already knew the plot. Amazing was fast paced and action-packed. There was a lot of action. Did I mention the action? Because the action was sensational. Spiderman finally fights like the acrobatic web-slinging wiseass you love from the comics. The webbing earned its keep. Rooftop shots and the Rhys Ifans Lizard show you just how far CGI has improved since 2002. SEE THIS MOVIE IN IMAX.
Bottom line: I would (and have) see any movie based on Spiderman… but this is one flat out works. Go see it. And yes I did wear my Spiderman sweatshirt to the theatre.
Finally, someone agrees! I’m sick...seeing bad reviews
Hahaha totally agree. I also wore my Spiderman shirt to the theatre. fuck yea
